I am delighted that in 2006 Lantern welcomes more incredibly talented Australian chefs
to its stable – Karen Martini, Tobie Puttock, Sean Moran, Matt Moran and Janni Kyritsis. One of our long-established writers and Australia’s favourite cooks, Stephanie Alexander, gives us a book of recipes for children – the younger generation’s first Cook’s Companion – while another of the country’s major creative talents, designer Jenny Kee, shares the story of her life in a riveting and richly illustrated autobiography. Beautiful places and spaces are celebrated in Vicki Archer’s My French Life, with photographs by the very talented Carla Coulson. Marion von Adlerstein, the epitome of style and savvy, has compiled a highly selective and very personal shopping guide to the world. Lantern is now two years old. I wish to thank all those involved – our authors and photographers, my colleagues at Penguin, agents, booksellers and everyone else in the trade – for their enthusiastic support of this publishing program.
